Colorado Tech Weekly #142: Awesome Business/Education Collaborations

Colorado Tech Weekly Binary FlagColorado Tech Weekly brings you the top 10  technology stories of the past week and the best upcoming local tech events every Monday morning!

This week has three different stories about collaboration between businesses and education organizations and it’s AWESOME!

This spirit of collaboration is what I love about the Colorado technology community. People will try to tell you that, to get ahead in business, you have to be cutthroat and that it’s survival of the fittest. They’ll tell you that it’s a game that means your competitors loss is your gain. You may be able to win playing that game, but that is not a game I like to play. The growth of the Colorado tech community is proof you don’t have to play that way. There are other ways to win and I like that we play the fun way.

Colorado Tech Weekly #64: Power of two

Colorado Tech Weekly Binary FlagColorado Tech Weekly brings you the top 10  technology stories of the past week and the best upcoming local tech events every Monday morning (Unless Monday is a holiday. Hope you had a great Labor Day weekend)!

64 is a power of two. It’s amazing how powerful the number two is. Do you ever stop to think that everything we do with computers is all just ones and zeros? It blows my mind whenever I think about it.

I got to witness the power of two in a completely different way this weekend. I saw my best friend get married. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a wedding and it was a very moving thing to be a part of my best friend’s wedding. Congratulations Dan and Jen!

Colorado Tech Weekly #44: Beer, Startups and Can a Technology Blog Go Without Mentioning the Heartbleed Bug?

Colorado Tech Weekly Binary FlagColorado Tech Weekly brings you the top 10  technology stories of the past week and the best upcoming local tech events every Monday morning!

I almost made it without mentioning the Heartbleed bug, but when I saw that Denver-based Accuvant released a paper with recommendations for it, I had to include it. This week, if you talk about technology, you’ll talk about Heartbleed. If you talk about technology in Colorado, you’ll talk about startups. And if you talk about startups in Colorado you will talk about beer. There, I feel I’ve justified my title to this post now.
