Colorado Tech Weekly #295: SendGrid Highlights Colorado Tech’s Monetary Value and We Talk About Imposter Syndrome

Colorado Tech Weekly brings you the top 10 technology stories of the past week and the best upcoming local tech events every Monday morning!

I’ve been a software developer for just over a year now. My first year was definitely a constant battle against imposter syndrome. Now that I have experience, that imposter syndrome is gone right? Hahahaha-no. It turns out that imposter syndrome isn’t just for newbies. It can be a constant issue for all developers and I like talking about it for the same reason I enjoy talking about mental health. Both issues are things that most people have to deal with and both issues are things that most people don’t talk about. This is why I’m excited to see that a few Colorado tech groups are getting together on February 12 to talk about imposter syndrome openly.

Infinicept is hiring again for a Software Engineer so we can bring our team of developers up to 6! I enjoy working for Infinicept partly because as an employee of a small company I get to help shape the culture. We’re a team that enjoys achieving together, learning together and helping each other out. I joke with my co-workers that I feel like I’m telling candidates what they want to hear when they ask about our culture. Interested? Let us know!

Only 5 more Colorado Tech Weekly posts will be on ScottPantall.com. Starting on March 11 (if I’ve done my math correctly) you’ll be able to find them on the new and improved ColoradoTechWeekly.com.

Have a great week!

Colorado Tech Weekly #294: More Than Just Skills, Compensation and Benefits

Colorado Tech Weekly brings you the top 10 technology stories of the past week and the best upcoming local tech events every Monday morning!

We’re a team that enjoys achieving together, learning together and helping each other out. I’ve noticed that there’s been a lot of companies hiring and people starting new jobs recently. It’s neat to see what people and companies bring to the table that is more than just skills, compensation and benefits. It feels like those things are an expected part of getting and keeping talent but the important part is the way you feel about a company or person? Maybe “how they make you feel” is not the right way to put it, but I’m talking about the things that are hard to put in a job posting or resume that makes managing talent (yours and others’) challenging and interesting.

I am dangerously close to launching off on a tangent so before I do that, here’s this week’s latest tech news and events! Only 6 more Colorado Tech Weekly posts will be on ScottPantall.com. After that, you’ll be able to find them on the new and improved ColoradoTechWeekly.com.

Have a great week!

Colorado Tech Weekly #279: Home, Health and Finances

Colorado Tech Weekly Binary FlagColorado Tech Weekly brings you the top 10  technology stories of the past week and the best upcoming local tech events every Monday morning!

We’ve long passed the time when technology was something aside from our everyday life. It used to be that there were those internet people and that computers were something you used only for work, school and entertainment. But now technology is deeply intertwined into every part of our lives including the things we need to manage the most in our lives: Our homes, our health and our finances. And every one of those tech related industries is represented well in Colorado.

Speaking of one of those tech related companies, the fintech company I work for, Infinicept, is hiring for 3 crucial positions (When you’re a small startup every position is critical isn’t it?). Those jobs are:

  • Front-End Developer: We want someone who can both UX design and help us developers make ReactJS follow those designs.
  • Software Implementation Consultant: If you can help a payments company understand how our SaaS can help them, this is for you.
  • Software Engineer:  Lots of ideas, new projects and more customers means we need to create a lot of code. If you like working with the latest .NET tools in C# and doing everything from front-end code in React to database queries in SQL Server, this is for you!

Have a great week!
